In this video Stars Foundation‘s Chief Executive Ms Muna Wehbe, illustrates how the foundation supports locally-led organizations with an entrepreneurial approach to philanthropy. Launched by the Stars Foundation in 2007, the Stars Impact Awards “seek to find strong local organizations that are improving the lives of children and their communities”, explains Ms Wehbe. These awards support them by offering flexible funding, the capacity of building support and the opportunity to raise their profile on a broader platform.
The 24 winners of the Stars Impact Awards were present at the 2015 Philanthropreneurship Forum. During the week of the forum, they have been able to connect, build relationships, and engage with new ideas during workshops the Stars Foundation have run with them.
Muna Wehbe also tells us how the Stars Impact Awards program relates to philanthropreneurship: “The Awards are an example of taking an entrepreneurial approach to philanthropy”.
