Philanthropreneurship Forum Alert

Alert me before session starts

Mr. David Rockefeller, Chairman of the Rockefeller Foundation, talks about how philanthropy has evolved in the last century and how many new players have joined the movement for social good.

However, Mr Rockefeller points out that the number of issues that philanthropy has to address has increased exponentially too. Reason why, he insists, “we need good ideas and we need good collaboration”. For example, protection of the environment is a new field of interest that philanthropists should consider, in particular, the research into the relationship between the environment and human health.

With increased number of players, Mr. Rockefeller reminds us that the key drivers behind successful philanthropy are empathy and collaboration, rather than egoism. “I hope we are entering a time when collaboration and empathy will be the stronger themes”, he concludes.

Mr. David Rockefeller was a speaker at the 2015 Philanthropreneurship Forum in Versailles, France.
